Welcome to my online diary. These posts are impressions from my life. I guess in some ways, for some people, they could be construed as genius while for others, utter boredom ;) Either way, I think and edit before I publish, you can count on that. I hope you find it a good read.

I've been blogging siince December of 2006 and become quite into the subculture and business of it. If you'd like to read more about me, please visit my online resume and drop me a line. Enjoy DATSOL!

Your Take on the Moon

For centuries, man has wondered at the power of the moon on people’s psyche. Fiction exists about werewolves and such but there is some real scientific data out there that shows the full moon produces more craziness in people. I saw one study that showed large city mental health lock-down facilities had more of an influx of patients on full moons than on other parts of the moon cycle. Coincidence?

Tonight I went out to my jacuzzi and the full moon was white filling up the backyard with its milky light. As I gazed at it it seemed to swallow up the pool and the whole backyard. It was fascinating, hypnotic, and spooky all at the same time. I could see the detail on the moon’s surface, it appeared closer. I started thinking about why these things have been said about the moon for so long. What’s your take on the moon?

I have always been fascinated by the moon and stars. Both of my boys have telescopes and they are dedicated star gazers. We visit the planetarium every once in a while, too. My youngest son and I once saw a ball of fire in the sky heading for earth in the middle of the day. Wow! What a sight it was. We later heard it was some kind of meteor which dissipated before touching the ground.

I saw the big yellow moon the other night and even contemplated photographing it; it peaked over the horizon and sat right over my backyard trees. It looked beautiful, such great energy, such magic. I believe the moon’s energy affects how we feel. The full moon in particular has an unspoken ability to cast spells on our souls…

    Great photo by the way.

my take on the moon? i’ll take it any time! :)

a friend of mine tells this story that when she was a child, people told her not to have the light of the full moon fall on her; it would make her crazy. she said that as soon as she heard that, she made sure to always have a full moon light bath :)

would love to be in that jacuzzi staring up at the moon!
